Sir Jim Ratcliffe slams Man Utd as ‘mediocre’ and tears into previous errors have value membership
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has slammed Manchester United as a “mediocre” football club.
Ratcliffe and his INEOS group became minority owners of the club earlier this year – but he has now opened up on the state of the football club in a bombshell interview. Speaking with fanzine United We Stand, Ratcliffe fumed: “The club has drifted for a long period of time, a decade or so.
“Manchester United has become mediocre. It’s not elite and it is supposed to be one of the best football clubs in the world. That’s what it used to be under Alex.

United have splashed the cash in recent seasons, resulting in a number of high-profile flops. And Ratcliffe is now looking to use data analysis when it comes to bringing in players.
“Data analysis comes alongside recruitment. It doesn’t really exist here. We’re still in the last century on data analysis here.
“There’s immense amount of useful data that we can get from data analysis and we’re in the ‘very poor’ bracket with data analysis here. These things don’t happen overnight.”
The Red Devils are back in action on Saturday evening (December 7) as they clash with Nottingham Forest, looking to bounce back from their midweek dissapointment.
