Couple divides opinion for having pole dancers at their ‘tacky’ gender reveal party
A couple has divided opinion when they hired pole dancers to spcie things up at their gender reveal party.
Mum-to-be Cristina Scarlevschi and her husband had organised a poolside party to invite their family and guests to witness the “magical” moment when the pole dancers performed to reveal whether she is having a boy or a girl.
In the video that went viral on TikTok after 6million views, the two professional dancers – one wearing a pink bikini and the other in blue – get up to the pole and spin elegantly in the air.

They arrange a “fighting act” in their choreography before one of them walks up to the couple and pops a balloon, which shoots out a flurry of blue confetti.

Some viewers were quick to jump to conclusion and called it “tacky” and “inappropriate”.
“Gender reveal parties nowadays are getting out of hand,” one said and another wrote: “This is a hard no.”
“I’m sorry this gender reveal was inappropriate! It’s like you’re presenting you are having a girl or boy by some girls dancing?” a third added.
But others said the idea was unique and better than others like this couple who used a wild tiger to chase around a balloon or this pair of parents-to-be who set off an 80lbs homemade bomb that shook their neighbours’ houses.
It was later revealed that Cristina is a pole-dance teacher and she didn’t “just want to pop a balloon”.
So her students came up with the idea of a dance performance.

“My family and friends, everyone applauded and looked with pride,” she added.
“I don’t see anything bad or ugly in this.
“For me it is something that characterises me, and it was a magical, memorable, and very emotional moment.”
