Boy catches Grinch for rent trashing Christmas tree and all hell breaks free
Families across the UK recruit Grinch actors to enter their homes and terrorise the kids, but this particular visit went wrong as one lad decided to fight back and put him in a chokehold
With the countdown to Christmas officially in swing, the infamous Grinch visits – which often have let kids crying and houses trashed – have made their return. But one family decided to fight back against the movie character.
The Grinch visits involves an employee from an entertainment company dressing up as the movie character and entering family homes. They’re supposed to provide a fun experience and exchange a few grumpy jibes before posing for photos. However, things took a turn when some Grinch characters started trashing houses and causing kids to cry.
However, one kid was branded “hard as f***” after taking down an actual Grinch who burst into their home and wrecked their Christmas tree. Carla Swan shared a clip on Facebook of a person dressed as the Grinch bursting into their home and traumatising the youngsters in the family.

Thing took another turn when it was revealed that the Grinch was the children’s aunt and Carla’s sister, Charmaine. And the chaos turned violent as one of the kids squared up to the floored Grinch, and started to beat them up.
The lad then mounts the poor flailing Grinch and put him in a chokehold while the Grinch tried to stand desperately up. However, the Grinch fell down again into the Christmas tree pile because the kid was swinging from their neck.
Carla posted the hilarious prank on her Facebook with the caption: “What an absolute laugh,” and it quickly gained popularity. The video was shared 25,000 times on Facebook and viewed over a million times on X.

Viewers quickly labelled the video as “hilarious”, with some confessing they “can’t stop watching” the 30-second clip. They even asked how much Charmaine would charge to create similar havoc in other homes. One X user even said: “That kid looks hard as f**k.”
After the video went viral, Carla reassured everyone that her kids were not “traumatised” by the prank. She revealed to Glasgow Live : “It was my sister. They didn’t know until after the video ended when she revealed herself then they thought it was absolutely hilarious.”
On X, Charmaine responded to negative comments about her prank, clarifying that the children were perfectly fine. She wrote: “No kids were traumatised as they knew it was me and the excessive screaming in the back is because I grabbed her advent calendar.”
