Mum blasts Ryanair for ‘fooling’ her household into reserving flight 92 miles from vacation spot
The Ryanair passengers were stunned as their festive holidays were ruined when they realised they were flying into an airport almost 100 miles from their intended destination
A distraught mum has claimed Ryanair “fooled” her family into believing they were travelling to Frankfurt, Germany for the Christmas markets. But the flight actually took them nearly 100 miles away to a different airport entirely.
Earlier this month Bridget Brown, 48, and her partner flew from London Stansted to Frankfurt for a one night getaway with their two friends.
However, Bridget’s brief holiday was quickly ruined when she came to realise her plane was actually heading to the wrong destination and instead of Frankfurt airport she was travelling to Frankfurt-Hahns, an airport almost 100 miles away from her intended destination.
The midwife said a lot of people made the same mistake as her and on the plane as multiple passengers were frantically researching ways to travel into the city.
“We realised that literally everyone on the plane had made the same mistake. Dozens of people were completely unaware we were flying into the middle of nowhere.
“When we got on the plane we overheard another couple say ‘we can’t believe we’re flying to this airport’ and then other people on the plane realising we weren’t actually flying to Frankfurt.”

Upon arriving at the incorrect Frankfurt airport Bridget and her friends had to cough up a staggering sum of over €700 for transport for their intended destination.
Bridget outlined the chaos that entailed many passengers as they tried to get from the airport into the city. People attempted to hire cars, however they were sold out, the connecting train took a total of three hours to get to the city; longer than the flight from London to Frankfurt.
Brigit believes that Ryanair deliberately are leaving their customers stranded by ‘misleading’ a flight destination.
“It’s inaccurate to have Frankfurt on the ticket,” She said.
“Ryanair should be saying Hahn, then in brackets Frankfurt. It should be advertised as a flight to Hahn, not Frankfurt, especially at this time of year when people are taking their loved ones away to the Christmas markets.”
Ryanair have been contacted to comment.
