Michael Schumacher to develop into a grandfather after daughter, Gina, broadcasts she’s pregnant
F1 icon Michael Schumacher is set to become a grandfather after the seven-time world champion’s daughter announced she is pregnant on social media
Michael Schumacher is set to become a grandfather.
Schumacher’s daughter, Gina, has announced she’s pregnant with her husband Iain Bethke’s baby with a post on social media. “Impatiently awaiting the arrival of our little girl,” she said on Instagram, as she posted snaps of a foal stood next to a batch of pink balloons.
One of the images showed a sign that read: “My new rider, coming April 2025.”
The news comes after Gina and Bethke tied the knot in a lush ceremony in Majorca – which they purchased for £27million in 2017.
According to local reports at the time it was reported that it was ‘very likely’ that seven-time world champion Schumacher was present. The same report suggests guests had to surrender their phones ahead of the wedding.
The outlet claims the family did not want anyone taking unauthorised photos of the property’s private rooms.
Schumacher reportedly spends a lot of time at the villa, which is believed to have been adapted allowing a team of doctors and nurses to provide round-the-clock care.
The former F1 World Champion suffered a serious head injury after a skiing accident in December 2013 in the French Alps, and his condition has since been kept under wraps.
Gina was recently slammed after she changed her name following the wedding. Schumacher’s ex-manager Willi Weber expressed shock at Gina’s choice to let go of such a “brand” name.
He said: “Why would you just drop such a big name? I don’t understand it. Giving up a name like that. It’s a brand. It’s connected to her father. I wouldn’t have done that. But that’s her decision! The other is my opinion.”
