Marco Silva’s team got off to a dream start when Bobby Reid opened the scoring for the home side in the opening minute.
Fulham looked the stronger team in the early going and doubled their lead on 20 minutes, with new-signing Joao Palhinha scoring a header from an Andreas Pereira corner.

Brentford hit back just before half time through Christian Norgaard, who rifled his volley past Bernd Leno in the Fulham goal.
Ivan Toney looked to have equalised for Thomas Frank’s side after the break but his goal was disallowed for offside by VAR.
Toney continued to search for an equaliser throughout the second half, and would get his goal on 70 minutes after slotting home from a Yoane Wissa cross.
Fulham would have the last laugh though, as Aleksandar Mitrovic headed home to secure three points for the home team.
