Roseanne alum Sara Gilbert finalizes divorce from Linda Perry 5 years after they break up
Roseanne alumna Sara Gilbert has finalized her divorce from singer-songwriter Linda Perry, five years after they first went their separate ways.
Perry, 59, and Gilbert, 49, tied the knot in 2014 and welcomed their now nine-year-old son called Rhodes the following year before splitting in 2019.
In late 2021 it was widely reported that the pair had finalized the divorce, but it has now emerged that they at that point were only declared legally separated.
Now, however, the legal proceedings have in fact been completed and the marriage was officially dissolved last Thursday, according to People.
The former couple agreed on joint custody of their son in 2021, and in the new documents, Gilbert checked an item indicating the arrangement ‘has not changed.’
They share both legal and physical custody, and everyday decisions about Rhode’s upbringing will be ‘the responsibility of the party in whose home Rhodes is then residing,’ under the terms of their separation.

Neither Gilbert or Perry will pay child support in the agreement, Us Weekly reported upon their legal separation in 2021, citing mediation in the split.
The actress and 4 Non Blondes vocalist also agreed to all financial terms – such as spousal support and asset division – separately, the outlet reported.
The Conners star filed for divorce from Perry in December 2019 following nearly six years of marriage, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their split.
She listed the date of separation as August 13 and requested that no spousal support be paid to either Linda or herself.
They met in 2011 and tied the knot in 2014, after Perry proposed in 2013.
Perry spoke to Us Weekly about their split saying: ‘It’s life, man. Life is happening and you’re witnessing it. You know, this is a moment in life and people will get to witness it and… I’ve had incredible journey and I’m still on an incredible journey.’

Talking to Page Six, the songstress said: ‘I love her. I adore her. We have a beautiful child together. So that journey’s not ended, it’s evolved into something else.’
Sara also has children Levi Hawk, 17, and Sawyer Jane, 14, from a previous relationship with Allison Adler.
Gilbert in April got a major pay raise ahead of The Conners’ fourth season. She and co-stars John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Lecy Goranson were given contracts for the new season, according to Deadline, which first broke the news.
The sitcom’s stars have been on yearly deals, according to the outlet, as opposed to the industry’s traditional six-year deals for talent, as it’s a spinoff of the Roseanne reboot.
Gilbert, Goodman and Metcalf have earned in the area of $400,000 an episode, while Goranson’s salary has been substantially bumped over the first three seasons, according to the outlet.
The four performers, who all appeared on the original Roseanne show, get a percentage of the backend of the series revenue stream.
The Conners supplanted Roseanne after Roseanne Barr’s May 2018 firing from the show after sending a racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former advisor for ex-President Barack Obama. Roseanne’s character was subsequently killed off in the storyline of the series, which remains ABC’s top comedy show.
