Jeff Stelling was left fuming after his two sons played an X-rated prank on him on Twitter on Christmas Eve, with the presenter vowing to send back their presents
Jeff Stelling was left red-faced after his sons’ cunning Twitter prank led him to vow he’d return their Christmas gifts.
Over the festive period in 2022, the former face of Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday fell victim to a cheeky ruse, courtesy of his two sons – and the whole world got a glimpse thanks to the web.
The broadcasting veteran shared a snap on X (formerly Twitter) showing off some pigs in blankets – the quintessential Christmas snack of sausages wrapped in bacon.

The only thing is, alongside the tasty festive treats, there appeared to be a penis wrapped in bacon that snuck into the shot, which was topped off with Stelling’s chirpy caption: “Love cooking Xmas dinner, I always do it in the buff!”
The realisation of the post hit Stelling like a sack of spuds as he swiftly pulled the tweet down, but not without it being seen by a number of his followers. Sharing his plans for retribution against his children, he wrote: “My bloody sons. All their presents going back! All Robbie will get is a Darlo shirt and Matt a ticket to a Palace game. FFS!!”
Many X users saw the hilarity in the stunt, with former BBC presenter Simon McCoy chipping in: “Very naughty. But bloody funny… Happy Christmas x.” Ex-football star Jermaine Beckford couldn’t help but drop a teary laughter emoji into the mix, getting a response from Stelling that read simply: “Kids mate!!!”
Having tied the knot with his wife Liz back in 1998, the pair share three children, Robbie and Matthew, who were born in 1998 and 1999, alongside the youngest member of the family, Olivia, who entered the world in 2003.

Stelling’s first two children were the masterminds behind the Christmas prank, with Robbie facing the threat of receiving a shirt from Hartlepool’s rivals Darlington, while Matt was warned he’d be given a ticket to watch Crystal Palace in action, due to his fervent support of Brighton.
Following Stelling’s exit from Soccer Saturday last year, he has since joined Amazon Prime’s Premier League coverage. In a move that has delighted football fans nationwide, Chris Kamara is set to reunite with Stelling on Amazon this month, which will broadcast 10 top-flight matches over Boxing Day and December 27.
