Luke Littler leaves pal speechless as darts ace splashes £500k winnings in Benidorm
History-maker Luke Littler left his friend speechless as the teen darts sensation jetted out to splash his £500,000 World Championship winnings in Benidorm
Luke Littler left his friend stunned after he jetted out to Benidorm to surprise him.
‘The Nuke’ has wasted no time splashing the cash after becoming the youngest-ever world darts champion a week ago. The 17-year-old defeated Michael van Gerwen 7-3 in the final at Ally Pally to land the eye-watering £500,000 winner’s prize.
Littler appears to be taking the time to celebrate his history-making success as he flew out to Benidorm to surprise one of his mates already lapping up the sun in Spain, with the temperature reaching 20C. The world champ was joined by his sister Caitlin, who captured the heartwarming moment.
Caitlin filmed Littler walking through a restaurant wearing an inconspicuous grey track bottoms and jumper as they located the table where his friend sat with Luke’s dad. Littler’s friend’s shock was etched all over his face as he took a double glance as the darts star walked over.
The friend immediately stood up and put his hands on his head in disbelief and shared a confused glance between Luke and Caitlin. He then embraced ‘The Nuke’ and moved to say hello to Caitlin before the video, which had “love a good surprise” as a caption, ended.
Caitlin has been a huge supporter of her little brother during his darting journey, with her regularly posting Luke’s achievements on social media. The 22-year-old could find fame in her own right too, with her currently boasting over 27,000 followers on TikTok.
Following her brother’s Premier League glory in May, she took to Facebook to share she was the “proudest sister ever”, adding: “I actually have no words, what a birthday present!
“Proudest sister ever. Everyone’s probably getting bored of me sharing posts about Luke but I can’t stop he’s just too good.”
Littler is back in action next week as he flies out of the Middle East to compete at the Bahrain Masters.
