Search for lacking sisters is prolonged to coast as nervous household say they have been each glad and cheerful within the days earlier than they disappeared
The search for two missing sisters has been extended to the coast as their worried family claim the pair were both happy days before the disappearance.
Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, both 32 from Hungary, were last seen on Market Street at Victoria Bridge at around 2am on Tuesday.
However, neither has been seen since – and a major land, air and water search by emergency teams has yet to locate them.
Today officers were searching in the Boat House area, near Duthie Park, with divers have already searched part of the River Dee.
Concerned relatives have also asked the public not to spread malicious rumours on social media about the pair – who actually part of a set of triplets.
The girls’ brother Jozsef posted a statement on social media that read: ‘Yes, unfortunately the news is true. Therefore I would ask everyone to respect each other and not to spread any false news.
‘What has been published in the press is what we can provide. The Scottish authorities are doing their job.
‘Please everyone, the family is not in a position to give you all separate information at this time. Thank you all for being with us at this difficult time.
‘Thank you. Huszti Family’

The sisters’ brother, Jozsef, told BBC News that their mother spoke to the girls on Saturday during a 40-minute chat, in which the pair seemed ‘fine’.
Eliza and Henrietta’s sister Edit Huszti – the other triplet – also reportedly spoke to them during a video call on New Year’s Eve and they appeared happy and cheerful.
The girls, were described as sociable – however, their loved ones said that they did not tend to go out often, preferring to stay at home to watch movies.
Adding that it was very out of character of them to be out in the early hours of the morning.
They were seen crossing the Victoria Bridge to the Torry district of the city, and turning right onto a footpath next to the River Dee – heading in the direction of Aberdeen Boat Club.
Officers are currently carrying out ‘extensive inquiries’ in and around the area and have urged local businesses to check their CCTV in a bid to help trace the pair.

Eliza and Henrietta Huszti – described by police as white, of slim build, with long, brown hair – left their home in Aberdeen city centre in the early hours of Tuesday morning
Chief inspector Darren Bruce, of Police Scotland, said: ‘Extensive inquiries are ongoing to trace Eliza and Henrietta and searches are being carried out in and around the area where they were last seen.
‘Local officers, led by specialist search advisers are being assisted by resources including police dogs and our marine unit.
‘The Torry side of Victoria Bridge where they were last seen has many commercial and industrial units.
‘Searches are ongoing here and we would urge businesses in and around the South Esplanade and Menzies Road area to please review their CCTV footage for early morning on January 7 and contact us if it holds anything that may be relevant to our investigation.
‘We also ask anyone with dashcam footage from that time to contact us.’
They moved to Aberdeen together seven years ago and it is understood that Henrietta works at a local Costa shop there.
