Pictured: ‘Amazing’ man, 35, killed when he was hit by a automobile within the early hours of the morning

The ‘amazing’ man who tragically lost his life in a horror crash has been pictured as tributes pour in from his family and friends on social media. 

Alex Connor, 35, was killed in a road traffic collision on the Upper Gransha Road, Bangor, Co Down, on January 11.

The fatal crash was reported at around 1:50am on the Saturday morning and the road was closed for an investigation – but has since reopened.

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland‘s (PSNI) collision investigation unit are currently examining the ‘circumstances of the collision’.

Following the incident, Connor’s family have paid a touching tribute to him on social media – along with images of the man displaying his funny and kind-hearted personality.

A relative wrote: ‘Rest in peace, Alex Connor. Still hard to believe, such an amazing, kind-hearted, funny brother-in-law.

‘Truly missed, forever in my heart.’

Another family member said: ‘So heartbroken. Best brother-in-law anyone could of ask for.

‘My thoughts are with my sister and his children and the family circle.

Alex’s uncle added: ‘Heartbroken, my wee nephew taken too soon, rip Alex, you will be sorely missed. Rest easy.’

A close friend said: ‘I’ve known Alex since he was no age running about the Valleys and Lisnabreen park. Always had a football with him and a kit on as a kid.

‘Very sad news, thinking of you all at this sad time!’

One more heartbroken pal chimed in: ‘Alex was a lovely lad. God bless the family thinking of his mum dad sister partner kids and wider family , circle.

‘My goodness. God bless.’

The PSNI’s Policing Inspector Cherith Adair said at the time of the incident: ‘It was reported at approximately 1.50am on Saturday morning that there had been a road traffic collision involving a male pedestrian on the Upper Gransha Road, Bangor.

‘The road has since reopened and detectives from the Collision Investigation Unit are examining the circumstances of the collision.’

Local police are urging people who may have witnessed what happened or have CCTV, dash-cam, or other footage to be made available to them to assist with their investigation into Connor’s death.
