Marcus Rashford could be set for a move to Napoli after his AC Milan deal collapsed.

The Italian giants are hoping to land the wantaway star on loan until the end of the season with their boss, Antonio Conte, a huge admirer of Rashford. According to The Sun, Napoli are also hopeful the move might appease their angry fans.

The mood isn’t too bright in Southern Italy, with star man Khvicha Kvaratskhelia set to leave the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and move to PSG this window.

Conte recently spoke of Kvaratskhelia’s impending departure, telling the media: “He asked the club to be sold, without mincing his words. This is what was said to me, the player has confirmed his decision to me.

“Personally I feel very disappointed, because I spent six months trying to make Kvara feel at the centre of the project, working with him, showing him that we could do something great and also working with the club for six months on the renewal.”

Rashford is keen for a move to Serie A, and he had looked set to move Milan this window. However, local reports suggest Milan have pulled out of the deal due to concerns over the player’s fitness.

Daily Star Sport understands that Rashford has been blocked from joining another English club this month – with interest from the likes of Tottenham, West Ham and Chelsea.

It’s understood United co-owner and INEOS chemicals group chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe is not willing to allow Rashford to go to one of his club’s immediate rivals.

With United facing the prospect of having to fund a significant chunk of Rashford’s £350,000-a-week wages, Ratcliffe is not prepared to do this and risk seeing one of his own players damage United’s chances of securing European qualification this season.
