“However, the research has also shown that it can be easy at times to forget how much they do and show our appreciation.”

A whopping eight out of ten view mums as ‘real-life superheroes’, with 68% feeling they don’t get the recognition they deserve.

A significant 75% reckon Mother’s Day is the ideal occasion to express their love for mum. However, over a third confessed they don’t tell their mum often enough how much they value her, with 17% admitting to barely lifting a finger on Mother’s Day.

When quizzed about what constitutes ‘enough effort’, 69% pointed to buying a gift, while 55% felt a heartfelt card would suffice.
