Newcastle legend Alan Shearer celebrates Dan Burn’s Carabao Cup last aim with X-rated five-word tweet

Alan Shearer was in the crowd at Wembley on Sunday to witness his beloved Newcastle United win their first major domestic trophy since 1955.

Shearer lost two FA Cup finals at Wembley during his 206-goal playing career with the Magpies.

But his former side ended their trophy drought with a 2-1 win over Liverpool in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final thanks to goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak.

Shearer was spotted jumping for joy in the stands when Burn headed Newcastle in front just before half-time.

After regaining his composure, at least a little, Shearer whipped out his phone and posted an X-rated five-word tweet.

It simply read: ‘Dan f***ing Big Man Burn’.

Newcastle doubled their lead just seven minutes into the second half courtesy of Isak’s 23rd goal of the season.

Isak fired home with his right foot from 12 yards, just moments after seeing a goal disallowed for offside.

Newcastle were good value for their victory but they were made to sweat late on after Liverpool substitute Federico Chiesa pulled a goal back in added time.

Shearer – who spent 10 seasons at Newcastle as a player between 1996 and 2006, before returning for a brief spell as manager in 2009 – attended Sunday’s game alongside his son Will.

Other famous Newcastle fans in attendance included TV duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes praised the fans in his post-game interview with Sky Sports.

‘It’s all for these fans,’ he said. ‘They deserve everything. When I first came here I said I wanted to put my name in history.

‘We can now say we are the champions again. This is one of the best days of my life.

‘I don’t have any words. It’s the best day of my life. For them [the fans] it’s like the World Cup.

‘People have grown up and not seen us as champions. My first year as captain of this club and it’s one of the best days. This is unbelievable.

‘This is my second home. We are making history. Some day when I leave this club I want the fans to sing my name the way they do to Shearer.

‘He text me before the game. I’m so emotional today.’
