Donald Trump’s granddaughter hits all-time low in golf nightmare at Junior Invitational
Donald Trump’s golf prodigy granddaughter Kai endured a nightmare first round at the prestigious Junior Invitational golf tournament, with the 17-year-old finishing bottom
Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai endured a nightmare first round of the Junior Invitational golf tournament.
Kai, 17, is the golf prodigy grandchild of the US President and is among the star names on the course for the prestigious tournament at Sage Valley in South Carolina. However, she has suffered a frustrating start.
Trump started well and was level par through the first five holes before her round swiftly fell apart. Kai then dropped 17 shots across just 13 holes and tumbled down the leaderboard to finish the round rock bottom.
Kai’s performance came as she was shadowed by armed secret service guards and her caddie, while she was watched by vast numbers of MAGA supporters, seeing the teenager piled under unprecedented pressure.
MAGA supporters could be seen by the side of every hole wearing red shirts and headbands with ‘TRUMP’ in capital letters written across them as they gave Kai enormous support and backing.
The tournament has three days left to play, but Kai will need to return to form as soon as possible with her six shots back from her nearest rival.
Trump has committed to the University of Miami, where she will continue her golf education with the goal of turning pro. She’s previously shown her skills alongside US Open champ and Trump supporter Bryson DeChambeau, performing trick shots with him for social media.
The president is a keen golfer and has taken on his granddaughter around their local links. Kai was previously asked about who comes out on top in their contests, and she admitted that Donald still picks up his fair share of wins.
“Genuinely, he always gives me a run for my money,” Kai said. “It’s pretty close. It’s never really like game over and I’ve won on the 15th hole. He wins a lot of the time. I do have to say that. I’ve got to get better.”
Another high-profile name in the men’s section of the tournament is Tiger Woods’ son Charlie, who sits 32nd of 36 players after a six-over-par first round. Charlie carded 78, a concerning 11 shots behind the leader, New Zealand’s Joshua Bai.
