Emma Hathorn, a dating expert at Seeking.com, said: “The research shows that single Brits are struggling with the current online dating world. We know that online dating is still one of the most popular ways to meet your future partner and we can’t see that changing any time soon as we celebrate three decades since online dating first started.
“It seems that British daters have high standards and are looking for platforms that can meet and exceed those expectations. The results showed a positive sign that British daters are prioritising authenticity, with a representative from Seeking stating: “At Seeking, honesty and transparency are at the very centre of what we stand for on our dating platform so it’s promising to see how important that is to British daters. “.
A significant number of respondents, one in five (20 percent), reported finding it difficult to meet someone who is their match or who shares their values. Meanwhile, 19 percent admitted to feeling bored with the dating scene, likening it to a second job, with 12 percent feeling fatigued.
