Stephen Bunting turns round his fortunes in Premier League after Luke Littler’s early exit
Stephen Bunting’s Premier League Darts fortunes might be about to change.
Bunting hadn’t won a game for eight weeks – but on the ninth try, he was able to dispatch Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-finals. And he didn’t stop there.
World No.1 Luke Humphries, who has struggled for form in recent weeks, had no answer for the Bullet in the semi-finals, setting up a clash with Gerwyn Price.
Price, on the other hand, had a unique route to the final with Michael van Gerwen missing the evening due to a shoulder injury. And he would then beat Chris Dobey, who dumped out Luke Littler, in the semi-finals.
And it would be the perfect start for Price, who broke Bunting after some doubling nonsense – but Bunting would break right back on the bullseye.

Bunting would almost then hit the bull in back-to-back legs, but Price would nail tops to move into a 2-1 lead. However, again, Price couldn’t hold his leg as The Bullet took the next leg against the throw.
There was another break in fifth, as Bunting snatched at D16, opening the door for Price to move into a 3-2 lead. And the breaks continued as Bunting wrestled the darts off The Iceman and nailed D8.
Bunting’s emotions were on full display as he fist pumped to the crowd when he took the first hold of the game with a 96 checkout. However, Price would start to hit his stride, equalling the score and making a home the T20 bed.
And it was Price with the crucial break to move within one leg.
The Welshman had two match darts, but Bunting reeled him and took it to a decider. The Bullet took out 107 – and earned his first nightly win.
