Man, 35, arrested for pouring scalding soup on girlfriend, 67, inflicting third diploma burns

A man has been arrested after allegedly pouring hot soup over his girlfriend, who is more than 30 years his senior, leaving her with third-degree burns, according to authorities.

Alexander Alton McDavid, 35, was with his 67-year-old girlfriend, at their flat near Waco, Texas when he lost his temper and accused her of talking too much.

As she was taking hot soup out of the microwave, McDavid is said to have knocked the plate, splashing the scalding soup onto the victim’s right shoulder and forearm, court documents claim.

The affidavit goes on to say that the victim, who doesn’t own a car and didn’t have a phone to ring the police, only left the flat a few days after the incident to pop into the Social Security Office and police station.

She then went to the police station to file a report against her boyfriend. Snaps were taken of her injuries, and she gave a written statement.

The alleged victim claimed that she and McDavid had been an item for about a year, during which he moved in with her and started physically abusing her.

The case is now pending prosecution at the McLennan County DA’s office, according to the affidavit. McDavid was banged up in the McLennan County Jail, with bail set at a whopping total of $130,000.

This comes after a schoolgirl was left in a coma with horror burns after a squishy toy she microwaved exploded in her face – after she “copied a TikTok video” she’d seen.

Scarlett Selby put a NeeDoh cube (fidget toy) into the freezer and then microwaved it for a few seconds to make it more malleable after allegedly seeing a video of people trying it on the social media platform. But harmless playtime soon turned to a living nightmare when it exploded – showering the seven-year-old’s face and chest with red-hot goo from inside the cube.

Horrified dad Josh Selby, 44, raced over to her when he heard a ‘blood-curdling scream’ and desperately tried to claw the sticky substance off her skin and clothes.

The machine operator rushed Scarlett to hospital where doctors placed her in an induced coma over fears the burns on her mouth would cause her airways to swell up and close.
