‘Senile’ Donald Trump trolled for weird rant on baseballer’s ‘wholesome arms’

The Los Angeles Dodgers swung by the White House on Monday to mark their 2024 World Series triumph with Donald Trump, but the U.S. President had a bit of a wobble on stage.
Trump, while lauding the Major League Baseball victors for their resilience, seemed to trip over his own spiel.
Trump kicked off: “This was the year the Dodgers faced down adversity, you went to the playoffs battered and bruised but not broken. When you ran out the healthy arms, you ran out of really healthy- they had great arms but they ran out.
“It’s called sports. It’s called baseball in particular and pitchers I guess you could say, really particular.”
Despite sailing smoothly through the rest of the event, fans couldn’t help but notice Trump’s verbal stumble and started speculating that he might not be the biggest baseball aficionado.
“Why do I get the feeling he’s never watched a single baseball game?” questioned one fan. “Dude knows absolutely nothing about baseball,” another responded.
“Dude has a gift for rambling aimlessly but confidently about any subject he knows nothing about,” someone else remarked. “I genuinely have no idea what he’s trying to say,” a baffled fan stated.
Trump also had a meet-and-greet with baseball sensation Shohei Ohtani, shaking hands before extending an invite to the Oval Office. As one of the world’s top baseball talents, Trump made a surprise ask of the Japan international and Dodgers designated hitter.
The U.S. President had Ohtani pose beside the historic Declaration of Independence, with a clip on social media catching Trump saying: “What a guy.”
Ohtani had initially hesitated to attend the White House gathering, worried about the reaction back home in Japan.
He wasn’t the only one to have second thoughts, as Mookie Betts had skipped a White House visit in 2018 during Trump’s first term as a member of the Boston Red Sox. However, in 2020, after winning the World Series with the Dodgers under President Joe Biden, Betts did attend the celebration.
Betts recently opened up about his decision to join the Dodgers at the White House, saying: “Being Black in America in a situation like this, it’s a tough spot to be in. No matter what I choose, somebody is going to be p—–. This is not about me. This is not about politics.
“This is about the Dodgers and my loyalty to these boys in the clubhouse. Nobody else in this clubhouse has to go through a decision like this except me. That’s what makes it tough. But it is what it is. I’m not trying to make this political by any means at all.”
Trump commended Betts for his performance the previous season, shaking hands with the baseball player while playfully teasing the Red Sox for trading him. Trump said “All it is, is just me being with my team to celebrate something. It’s a privilege to get an invitation like this. I just want to be there with them.”
Turning to Betts and the team’s recent achievements, he added “After seeing how successful you’ve begun the season, I can tell you that you can plan on being back here. I hope you can be back here, next year.”
