Red Devils fans launch beer cans at coach ‘taking group of Man Utd-supporting kids’

Manchester United fans launched beer cans at a coach supposedly carrying a group of their own young supporters during their pre-Liverpool match protests.

In videos shared to social media, multiple projectiles can be seen being launched at the vehicle as it travelled towards Old Trafford. It appeared as though those involved believed it was either the Liverpool squad or a group of their travelling fans on board.

They could be heard chanting “murderers” and “you scouse b*******” in the direction of the coach. However, an account named Beeline VIP Coaches claimed on Twitter that it was a group of United-supporting kids they were transporting to the game.

Their post read: “Many thanks you idiots, we were bringing a group of kids to the game (Manchester United fans) all were frightened to death where were the @gmpolice when we needed you to keep the coach and kids safe???”

The account went on to confirm they are a “Manchester firm” in a separate tweet, before later adding: “Yeah [we’re] fine. Wouldn’t mind but we had a coach full of kids!”

United fans were once again protesting against the club’s American owners, the Glazer family, ahead of kick-off.

There were fears the fixture would be postponed, just like it was back in May 2021 when supporters stormed the ground.

It seemed the United supporters believed the coach to be a Liverpool one as they launched projectiles

But after they’d gathered at various pubs near the stadium and marched in their thousands to express their feelings towards the Glazers, the match did kick-off as planned.

Chants of “We want the Glazers out” could be heard soon after the first whistle had been blown, with several banners and signs covering the stands.
