Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland announce mass UK-wide financial institution department closures – see full checklist
Lloyds Banking Group has announced it will close 49 more branches across the UK in 2026, with closures affecting Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers
Lloyds Banking Group has announced plans to shut down an additional 49 of its bank branches across the UK next year, impacting customers of Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland. The latest round of closures will see 26 Lloyds branches, 10 Halifax and 13 Bank of Scotland sites shutting their doors.
It comes weeks after rival brand NatWest confirmed it will be closing 52 of its branches, while Santander has plans to close 19 branches, and Bank of Scotland has nine closures lined up.
Lloyds Banking Group owns Lloyds Bank (obviously), as well as Halifax and Bank of Scotland, with closures set to start as early as January, 2026.
