Family of Brit dad who died in Benidorm has ‘proof’ it wasn’t an accident
Nathan Osman fell 650ft to his death whilst on a lads’ holiday in the Spanish tourism hotspot, but now his family has opened up on their belief his death was intentional
The family of a British man who died after plunging 650ft off a cliff in Benidorm say they “have undeniable proof” there was foul play. They are now convinced the beloved dad was murdered, and have called for a second police probe.
Nathan Osman was 30 when he headed off to Benidorm as part of a lads’ holiday in September of 2024. However, investigations have thrown up questions surrounding how he died, and how the man had met his end.
Now, his family has spoken out about the findings of the investigation and now say they have “proof” that his death was intentional. They have alleged that data from his phone at the time showed discrepancies between where he was found and where he was last seen.
South Wales native Nathan died from head and abdominal injuries, according to a post-mortem examination. His body had been found at the bottom of a 650ft cliff just outside of the Spanish holiday destination.
But speaking to Sky News’ The UK Tonight programme, Nathan’s brother Lee Evans said the new data provided by the phone meant he would not have been able to reach the area where he was found. This now means that he would had to have been taken there by people who did him harm.
He added that Nathan’s phone was given back to the family a few months ago, and his final movements had been tracked through his health app. He explained: “His pace wasn’t consistent with a fast walk or even a sprint.
“There’s a breakdown inside the app of every 10 minutes — the distance, pace, measurement of pace… every detail you can think of,” he said. Nathan’s family is now convinced that Nathan was driven in a car, despite being uphill for over 40 minutes.
According to his final interactions, beloved dad Nathan had headed off to Benidorm back in September last year, when he opted to head home and leaving his friends behind. He is believed to have taken a walk back to his hotel room when he went missing and was ultimately found.
Police investigating the incident at the time deemed his death a “tragic accident”, but his family has never been fully convinced of their ruling. Their suspicions were fuelled even more when it was found his body was found in a remote location in the complete opposite direction of the hotel he was staying in.
His loved ones are now calling on the police in Spain to reopen the case as there could be suspicion of foul play. Desperate for answers, the family have taken matters into their own hands and are now independently looking into Nathan’s death.
The case was reopened legally earlier in the year after his family were able to gather new CCTV footage and witness statements. Nathan’s bank statements were also retrieved, where it was found that there had been numerous attempts to use his card the day after he had died.
Speaking on the moment they found the scene where his body was found, mum Elizabeth said: “We were a bit upset, but we were very pleased we went up there. We could see… there’s no way he would have looked at that area and thought, ‘I’m going up here’.”
