Manchester Tesco swarmed by police after studies of an ‘assault’ as space locked down

Police have swarmed a Tesco supermarket in an area of Manchester after reports of an “attack”.

Three police cars have been spotted outside the Tesco Extra on Victoria Avenue East in Blackley since around lunchtime today (December 3).

According to eyewitnesses speaking to the MEN, they have alleged that an ‘attack’ had taken place outside the store.

Greater Manchester Police have since confirmed that they were called to reports of a stabbing and found one victim.

The force confirmed that A man in his 30s has received an injury to his face and he was taken to hospital for further treatment.

No arrests have been made but police believe this was a “targeted attack”.

Police also reassured the people that there is no wider risk to the general public.

The store was locked down and the area was s cordoned off for officers and detectives to investigate the scene. A CSI van remains in attendance outside the Tesco.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 12.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday 3 December 2025), we were called to reports of stabbing at a business property on Victoria Avenue East in Blackley, north Manchester.

“A man in his 30s has received an injury to his face, which has been described as not-life threatening. He has been taken to hospital for further treatment.

“No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.

“Officers believe this to be a targeted attack and there is no wider risk to the general public.”

The store has since reopened to the public.
