Heathrow Airport locked down as armed police swoop and drivers advised to remain put

Heathrow Airport has been swarmed by armed police who are currently dealing with a major incident. Ambulances and fire engines are also believed to be stationed at Terminal 3.
Drivers have been warned not to leave their vehicles as the situation is dealt with. Routes into the airport are also understood to be closed at the moment – including 105, 111, 278, 285, SL9, A10, SL7, U3.
As well as this, the LUL and Elizabeth Lines are suspended. This has caused rail disruption, with users taking to X to ask about delays. One confused commuter said: “What’s happened at Heathrow? Why are all the trains departing and arriving at Heathrow cancelled?”
A Heathrow Airport spokesperson said: “Our teams are responding to an incident with the emergency services in the multi storey car park in Terminal 3. We will provide updates shortly.”
Meanwhile, a London Fire Brigade spokesman said: “We were called at 8.14am today to assist emergency service colleagues at an incident near Terminal 3 at Heathrow Airport. Firefighters remain at the scene.”
