Laura Woods makes TV comeback after scary collapse reside on air eight days in the past

Laura Woods has made her return to TV to present the Champions League action between Manchester City and Real Madrid just eight days on from her scary collapse live on air

Laura Woods has made her return to TV for the first time since her scary collapse live on air eight days ago.

The presenter fronted the coverage of Manchester City’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night for TNT Sport. Woods was joined by Liverpool icons Steven Gerrard, Steve McManaman and former City defender Joleon Lescott.

Woods’ comeback is just eight days after she had to be replaced from the ITV broadcast of the women’s international match between England and Ghana. While discussing England’s 8-0 victory, Woods fell forward and was caught by pundits Ian Wirhgt and Anita Asante.

The cameras quickly cut away but audio briefly continued, capturing Wright checking on Woods before the programme switched to an extended ad break, sparking fear among fans.

When the coverage returned, she had been replaced by Katie Shanahan, who announced that Woods had been “taken ill but she’s in very good hands”.

Thankfully, Woods confirmed she was fine in a statement posted to social media.

She shared: “Gosh that was a bit weird. Sorry to worry everyone, I’m OK, the wonderful paramedics at Saints have said it’s probably a virus, just need a bit of rest and rehydration.

“I’m really embarrassed that happened on TV, but a big thank you to my colleagues at ITV who have really looked after me tonight. And to Wrighty and Neets for catching me, and sorry again x.”

Her former Love Island star partner Adam Collard also reassured fans that Woods was doing okay. He said: “Laura is all ok and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages.”

She gave birth to a baby boy, Leo Ernie Collard, in January 2025 with her partner.

Woods did not make any comment about her collapse as she reappeared on TNT Sports for the first time. Instead, she delved straight into previewing the match.
