Moment shameless drunk driver laughs after killing father in entrance of his daughter in Christmas Eve crash
This is the moment a shameless drunk driver laughs and tells Police ‘you’ve got nothing’ after killing a beloved father in a horror crash.
Twenty-nine-year-old Mark Plimmer spent Christmas Eve in 2023 sinking shots in multiple pubs before driving home that night.
On his way home, he crashed into a vehicle in Draycott-in-the-Moors, Staffordshire, while he was more than twice over the legal drinking limit.
He smashed his black Vauxhall Vectra into a Mini Cooper and a Hyundai Tucson parked near a restaurant.
When Plimmer collided with the Hyundai, he hit 62-year-old Charalambos Nicolaou, who had just finished having dinner with a group of family and friends.
Mr Nicolaou, who was visiting from Cyprus, tragically died at the scene in front of his daughter and pals.
CCTV reveals Plimmer drinking in multiple pubs before the fatal crash in Tean and Stoke-on-Trent hours before Mr Nicolaou was killed.
Plimmer fled the scene after the crash and hid in bushes nearby, where Police found him and arrested him.
Prior to the fatal crash, Mark Plimmer spent the night sinking shots and laughing and joking with bar staff

Police bodycam footage shows Plimmer denying killing anyone while driving dangerously and laughing at officers.
He showed no remorse for his actions while yelling: ‘Who’s dead? Nobody. What’ve you got on me? Nothing.’
Plimmer continued to be abusive towards police on his way to custody, taunting them by saying: ‘You’ve got 24 hours to charge me. With a burnt-out car, you’ve got nothing.’
The shameless drunk was charged on Christmas Day with causing Mr Nicolaou’s death.
He denied the charges but was jailed for 18 years after being found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving after a trial.
PC Jon Stant said: ‘This case just goes to show how incredibly damaging drink and drug driving can be.
‘We’ve had cases where people have shown remorse.
‘They’ve told us that it was never their intention to get behind the wheel while under the influence of a substance, but one thing led to another, and things got out of control.

‘We’ve had others, like Plimmer, who showed absolutely no regard for those around him that night.
‘He thought drink driving was fine and that he’d get away with it.
‘No matter which side of the coin you fall, you are wrong every single time. Drink and drug driving devastates the lives of families forever and cannot be undone. That is why we are so determined to put a stop to it in Staffordshire.’
Last month, Staffordshire Police arrested 76 people on suspicion of drink or drug driving.
There have been 34 fatalities or serious injuries as a result of car crashes involving drugs or alcohol.
