ITV bosses haven’t informed John Torode and Lisa Faulkner if John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen is coming again after it disappeared from 2026 schedules following his N-word disgrace

Bosses at ITV News are yet to tell John Torode and Lisa Faulkner if their weekend cooking show will return after it disappeared from the broadcaster’s 2026 schedules.

John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen was pulled from ITV’s calendar after John found himself embroiled in a racism row with fellow broadcaster the BBC

He was axed from the BBC’s Masterchef after a report found he had used an ‘extremely offensive racist term’, including the N-word, during drinks after filming the show.

As well as Masterchef John, alongside his wife, also fronted their much-loved cookery show on ITV, which launched in 2019, where they showcase their favourite recipes.

It currently airs at 11:40am on Saturday mornings. However, it has not been announced as part of ITV’s weekend morning schedule for next year.

Instead, James Martin‘s Saturday Morning show has been extended to midday. The programme will now run for two and a half hours after ITV bosses were impressed with its ratings.

Fellow chef Ainsley Harriot has been given a new 30-minute show called Ainsley’s Taste of the Bahamas where he will explore the rich flavours and culture of the Caribbean.

However, Lisa has claimed that it was ‘not unusual’ for ITV to have not announced a new season.

‘Well, we don’t know whether it will be or not but that’s not unusual. The decision is made further down the line,’ she told The Times.

Speaking about the events over the last year, Lisa said: ‘These are challenging times but I have the most amazing husband. He’s an amazing man.

‘I love my husband with all my heart  – he is a fantastic, gentle, brilliant and kind man.’

The racism complaint against John was revealed in a report into co-presenter Gregg Wallace’s inappropriate behaviour.

Gregg, 60, was sacked after dozens of complaints against him were upheld.

John identified himself as an unnamed person in the report who was accused of using ‘racist language’.

However, the presenter said ‘he had absolutely no recollection’ of the incident and did ‘not believe that it happened’.

But in a statement in July, the BBC said: ‘This allegation – which involves an extremely offensive racist term being used in the workplace – was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm Lewis Silkin.

‘The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously.

‘We will not tolerate racist language of any kind and we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. John Torode’s contract on MasterChef will not be renewed.’
