Top flight match known as off in ‘pink climate warning’ as membership announce choice
The La Liga match between Levante and Villarreal has been postponed due to a ‘red weather warning’.
Due to concerns about severe weather in the area, the game that was scheduled to kick off at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia at 6.30pm local time on Sunday, will be played at a later date.
Earlier in the weekend, a red weather warning had been issued for areas of the Valencia region. And La Liga confirmed the decision to call off the fixture on Sunday.

The club said in a statement: “In light of the weather alert and following safety recommendations, the match between Levante UD and Villarreal CF from matchday 16 of La Liga EA Sports, scheduled for this Sunday, December 14, has been postponed.
“The new date and time of the match will be announced shortly.”
Valencia City Council sent an official communication to La Liga to cancel the match, which was approved by the league and the Spanish Football Federation.
Villarreal, who are currently one point behind Real Madrid in the La Liga standings, will miss the chance to go second today as a result of the game being called off.
Levante fans meanwhile may welcome not having to watch their side in action.
They are slumped at the bottom of the table in 20, with just nine points from a possible 45 after 15 games.
‘The Frogs’ have lost 10 times already this campaign, drawing three times and winning only twice.
Julian Calero Fernandez won them promotion to the top flight last season as champions in the Segunda Division, but was sacked on November 30 with the club in the relegation zone.
It’s not the first time matches in the Valencia region have been postponed due to weather issues.
Last season, Valencia and Levante both had matches postponed and rescheduled for a later date due to Storm DANA.
Meanwhile, Villarreal also had a home fixture against Espanyol set aside due to concerns over torrential rain.
