Justin Longmuir will have to top up the swear jar after the Fremantle coach was called out by David Mundy’s young son for his foul language during a team meeting.
Mundy’s family sat in the Dockers’ inner sanctum post-match meeting following Saturday’s western derby triumph over the Eagles – Mundy’s last match against Freo’s local rivals.
Yet a slip of the tongue from coach Longmuir did not go amiss, with Mundy’s son, Finn, saying: ‘I will point that out every time!’ in a stern warning to the 41-year-old.
Justin Longmuir was called out for his bad language by David Mundy’s son on Saturday
‘It feels a little bit premature … we’re not f***ing done yet,’ the senior coach said in a bid to inspire his side.
‘Hey,’ Finn called out from halfway up the theatre, which set the Dockers squad off in hysterics.
‘Someone in the front row just said ‘you’ve got to watch your language’ and I just let it slip,’ he admitted.
Yet it wasn’t long before Longmuir dropped another F-bomb.
The Freo veteran helped his side qualify for finals in his final ever western derby in Perth
‘It’s a f***ing brilliant …’ he said, before young Mundy said: ‘Hey, don’t say that word … I will point it out every time.’
Longmuir briefly attempted to convince the youngster that he in fact said ‘far out’, Mundy told the youngster to ‘bring your swear jar down here after all’.
After the team meeting, Longmuir apprently offered Finn $2 for his poor language, which the youngster proudly paraded around the changing room.
The Dockers mathematically secured their place in this year’s finals with a hard-fought win over AFL strugglers West Coast. They play their final game of the regular season against GWS in Canberra on Saturday.
