Specsavers have taken to Twitter to poke fun at Dietmar Hamann by encouraging him to book an eye test after he claimed Darwin Nunez should not have seen red in Liverpool‘s draw with Crystal Palace.
Nunez came crashing back down to Earth on Monday night – after a bright start to life in the Premier League – when he was sent off on his Anfield debut for headbutting Joachim Andersen.
The £85million summer signing had been wound up by the close attentions of his marker and is now is suspended for three matches, starting at Manchester United on Monday.

Liverpool fought back from a goal down to claim a 1-1 draw against Patrick Vieira’s men, with Luis Diaz scoring four minutes after Nunez’s 57th-minute dismissal.
But ex-Germany international Hamann believes the Uruguay star was unlucky to be given his marching orders, insisting he simply ‘walked into’ the Dane without ‘extensive force’.
‘I think he just walked into the defender Joachim Andersen. It wasn’t even a headbutt,’ Hamann told talkSPORT.
‘If it was a proper headbutt I would understand extending the ban. I think three games is enough.

‘We all agree he shouldn’t do it. When I first saw it in real time, I think the defender made more of it than it was.
‘But obviously afterwards he saw that he hit him on the chin. But I am not sure if there is extensive force with his head.
‘He let himself down and the team down, and it didn’t help Liverpool even though after he got sent off, they started playing better than with him.’
Nunez’s team-mate Virgil van Dijk however did not offer a similar defence, insisting he must exercise more discipline in the future.
‘He has to control himself, definitely,’ insisted van Dijk. ‘He has to manage himself, knowing that these things can happen, especially in the Premier League.

‘He’s got the backing from us and he knows it should not happen again and hopefully it will be that way.
‘He was disappointed and also probably with himself. But it’s a learning curve and obviously we will always back him. Hopefully it will never happen again.’
Nunez’s dismissal leaves Klopp with a striker crisis for Old Trafford with Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino among eight players unavailable through injury.
Palace defender Andersen meanwhile has called on Instagram and the Premier League to ‘do something about’ the vile online abuse he received following his part in the red card.
