Fernando Torraca – who has branded himself as The King of Diet on TikTok, where he has gained more than 518,000 followers – left many people on the internet in awe after he claimed that he consumes 100 eggs every single day.
The health buff, who is based in Florida, went viral after he posted a series of videos showcasing his bizarre diet online, which lead to many viewers wondering – is this actually healthy?
‘400 eggs, believe it or not, will last only four days,’ he wrote alongside one video, which showed him carrying in a box of eggs and unpacking them.

Another clip featured him cracking them open and separating the egg whites from the yolks.
‘They say [steroids] but they don’t see my struggles,’ he said in the clip. ‘It’s not easy eating 100 eggs daily.’
‘They don’t know the truth. 100 eggs per day,’ he wrote in a third TikTok, which saw him lifting up his shirt to show off his abs.
On YouTube, Fernando explained that he enjoys eating eggs because they’re ‘fast to digest,’ which means he can have numerous small meals throughout the day.
He said he spreads the 100 eggs out across four or five meals, and that while he sometimes does eat chicken or fish – they often leave him ‘feeling bad’ and ‘farting a lot.’

‘My body doesn’t absorb that kind of protein. My body absorbs eggs really well. That’s why I eat a lot of eggs,’ he added.
‘When I eat chicken I feel bloated. When I have gas, my belly looks like [I’m] six months pregnant. I don’t like it.’

The influencer fries the eggs and adds a pinch of Himalayan pink salt, which he claimed was his ‘secret’ ingredient that helps prevent bloating.
He completes his meals with one piece of whole wheat toast with six to 10 grams of butter, as well as a cup of black coffee with sweetener.
In the video, the body builder added that ‘it’s not easy’ for him to stick to his ‘very strict diet.’

Under his TikToks, many people flooded the comment section with their thoughts on his strange food habit, with some slamming him for wasting the yolks rather than donating them to ‘the poor.’
‘I’m sure some company would buy them wasted egg yolk, or even if you cooked them and gave to the poor, it would make a difference,’ wrote one person.
Another called him the ‘king of wasting’ while a third told him to ‘do something with the yolks.’
As for why he doesn’t just purchase bottled egg whites, he explained on YouTube, ‘I don’t like that. I trust what I see. [I like] real eggs.’
‘The taste is different,’ he continued. ‘You can try it yourself, you’ll see that the taste is different.’
He also said he doesn’t like to donate the yolks out of fear that bacteria might develop and get someone sick.
In regards to the cost of purchasing such a large amount of eggs, he added, ‘I don’t care about money I care about my shape. I am a full time body builder, this is my job.’
So is it healthy to eat so many egg whites? WebMD reported that while they are an ‘excellent way to add protein to your diet without adding calories,’ eating too many of them can put you at risk for ‘heat disease and stroke.’
Dietitian Samantha Cassetty added to the Today show that there is ‘nothing magical about eggs’ since you can get the same amount of protein from foods like seafood, poultry, beans, tofu, or Greek yogurt.
‘Egg whites are low in saturated fat and calories. That can be helpful if you’re watching your intake of either. But you don’t have to eat eggs or animal protein to build or maintain muscle mass,’ she said.
‘The reality is that it’s not healthy to make any single food a way of life. The healthiest diets include a variety of foods with an emphasis on filling 75 per cent of your plate with diverse, plant-based foods, such as veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds and beans.’

Healthline added that egg whites, compared to whole eggs, ‘are low in nutrients’ and that the yolks contain ‘vitamins, minerals, extra protein, and some healthy fats.’
‘Egg yolks are also a rich source of two important antioxidants – lutein and zeaxanthin – which help prevent eye degeneration and cataracts,’ it added.
‘Additionally, they contain choline, an essential nutrient that many people do not get enough of.
‘Eating whole eggs also makes you feel full, which can help you in eating fewer calories overall.’
