Newcastle are weighing up another formal bid for Watford forward Joao Pedro after their £20million offer was knocked back.
The Championship outfit told Eddie Howe‘s side their offer of £20m plus £3m in add-ons would not be enough for the Brazilian star.
Watford’s official stance is that they don’t wish to lose Pedro, 20, and he is not for sale.

The former Fluminense prospect scored three goals last season as the Hornets were relegated, including a strike at St James’ Park.
Newcastle rate Pedro, who can play out wide or as a central striker, highly and have been looking to strengthen their forward line after missing out on Hugo Ekitike, who joined Paris Saint-Germain.
Pedro has started all three of the club’s league games this season, scoring the winner in their opener against Sheffield United, with the club third in the table after two wins and a draw.

But Watford would be more receptive to offers for Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr (pictured)
He scored nine goals in 38 appearances in 2020-21 to help spearhead Watford’s instant return to the Premier League and they hope he can do so again.
However, Rob Edwards’ side would be more receptive to offers for winger Ismaila Sarr, who could be an option for Manchester United.
Watford have already lost versatile forward Emmanuel Dennis to promoted Nottingham Forest for around £20m.
