Yankees fans FUME after FIFTH straight series defeat and take aim at GM Cashman

Furious New York Yankees fans took to social media in their droves Tuesday night after the team lost a FIFTH straight series to further squander their lead at the top of the AL East.

The Bronx Bombers are in a slump and have struggled since the All-Star break, losing recent series against the Mariners (twice), Cardinals, Red Sox and – most recently – Rays.

They are 2-11 in their last 13 games, and have seen their division lead fall to single digits in recent days – knowing another loss against the second-placed Rays tonight would make that even worse.

Fans took to social media to make their feelings known after yet another defeat for the Yankees

With that in mind, fans were quick to slam the Yankees on social media in the wake of Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat, with one simply noting: ‘Why do I keep coming here?’

Elsewhere, written entirely in capital letters, one fan wrote sarcastically: ‘I love coming to the stadium, paying 200 dollars of my hard earned money for tickets, and then getting told I’m wrong for booing players who are making millions of dollars a year,’ before following it up with four clown emojis.

Long-time general manager Brian Cashman has not avoided criticism either, with some supporters urging him to look at his prospects in AAA.

In particular, fans are desperate to see Oswald Peraza called up, especially given his incredible performance for Scranton/Wilkes-Barr RailRiders Tuesday, as they came back from 9-0 down to win 10-9 – a new franchise record.

One Twitter user, who had changed his name to ‘Depressed Yankees Fan’, wrote: ‘Brian Cashman should be arrested for treason for keeping this kid in AAA.’

Elsewhere, another supporter said: ’24 innings, 13 hits, 1 run. It took three weeks of embarrassing themselves to maybe call up Florial? What would it take to call up Cabrera? Peraza? To make a meaningful upgrade?

Brian Cashman also took some heat on social media for his reluctance to bring in prospects

Cashman has been general manager at the Yankees since 1998 and has won four World Series

‘If they don’t care why should we? LAD (Los Angeles Dodgers), HOU (Houston Astros), NYM (New York Mets) care. That’s why one of them will win it all.’

An incredible video emerged midgame Tuesday of some fans who had turned the bleachers into a barbershop, such was the lack of excitement on the field at Yankee Stadium.

While they do still have a nine-game lead in the AL East and look destined for a spot in the postseason, upcoming series against the Toronto Blue Jays – another team chasing them down in the East – and the rival Mets are both worrying assignments.
