Good Morning Britain switch up presenters as Paul Brand replaces Richard Madeley

Good Morning Britain fans woke up to a new face on the programme on Thursday as Kate Garraway‘s presenter partner was switched up.

The TV star, 55, has been hosting the news show alongside Richard Madeley over the summer months and looked incredible wearing a £65 dress by Dancing Leopard.

But Richard was nowhere to be seen and was replaced by ITV‘s former political correspondent Paul Brand.

Surprise: Good Morning Britain fans woke up to a new face on the programme on Thursday as Kate Garraway’s presenter partner was switched up

Early on during Thursday’s show, Kate gushed to her new co-host ‘thank God you’re here!’ as they discussed the rail strikes currently taking place across the country.

Train companies have slashed their services by a fifth today as thousands of members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union, Transport Salaried Staffs Association (TSSA) and Unite hit picket lines up and down the country in a grinding dispute over pay and working conditions.

Kate then went on to say: ‘Everyone is thoroughly enjoying Paul Brand being here. They are saying you’re a breath of fresh air and you are brilliant – but I will indulge you with those comments later.’

Shock: Richard was no where to be seen and was replaced by ITV’s former political correspondent Paul Brand

Paul worked as Political Correspondent on ITV News from 2016 to 2020, and became UK Editor earlier this year.

He was recently involved in revealing many partygate scoops but has now made his GMB debut.

Paul welcomed a baby son, Tomos George, last year and announced the news on Instagram by sharing a snap cradling the baby, sat next to his beaming husband Joe Cuddeford.

The couple – who wed in 2017 – had their child via surrogacy, with Paul sharing an image with their surrogate a few days prior.
