Casemiro’s mother drops hint midfielder’s £60m Man United move is close after Instagram follow

The ongoing speculation over Manchester United‘s £60million move for Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro may have received a telling update, albeit from an unlikely source.

On Thursday night, United fans spotted that Casemiro’s mother had briefly followed the club’s official account on her Instagram @magdacasemiro, dropping a clear hint on the Brazilian’s future.

Screenshots of Magda de Faria Casemiro following the club quickly circulated on social media, and by Friday morning she had swiftly removed her follow.

However, United fans were quick to pick up on the hint, and Magda’s most recent post has now been swamped with fans welcoming the Brazil international to Manchester.

Despite the uncertainty regarding his future, the midfielder was pictured training alongside his Real Madrid teammates on Friday morning.

However, the move for Casemiro is set to be completed in the coming days after United agreed a fee with Real Madrid for the five-time Champions League winner.

The midfielder has spent nine years in the Spanish capital after first arriving on loan from Sao Paulo in 2013.

Casemiro made 48 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos last season but the summer arrival of Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni looks likely the Brazilian’s playing time at the Bernabeu.

Casemiro met with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti on Wednesday to inform the Italian that he was interested in making the switch to the Premier League, and was granted the go ahead to speak to United by Los Blancos president Florentino Perez.

The player is set to be undertaking a medical at United, but with the signing yet to be officially completed, he will not be registered in time for the team’s game against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday.

As a result, United fans will likely get their first look at their new star man when they travel to Southampton on August 27.

Erik ten Hag will not have Casemiro available for United’s game against Liverpool on Monday
