Police forced entry to the property in Boddington Gardens, Ealing, following reports of screaming at 3.40pm on Monday.

Officers found the victim lying on the floor of the living room having suffered from multiple stab wounds.

The defendant was arrested and charged with murder on Wednesday.

A post-mortem examination found Ms Bennis’s cause of death to be multiple stab injuries.

She had sustained more than 30 stab wounds, with the fatal injury to the right thigh.

Wearing a dark top with her hair tied back, Bennis appeared in court via videolink from HMP Bronzefield today speaking to confirm her date of birth as she sat a table with her arms crossed.

She confirmed her identity before Judge Philip Katz set a timetable for the case.

Joel Smith, prosecuting, said Bennis was involved in a ‘volatile relationship’ with her mother.

Police were called after neighbours heard ‘screams and sounds of a disturbance’ coming from the address and Aziza Bennis saying: ‘Please don’t hurt me!’

A plea hearing was set for November 4 with a provisional, two-week trial from July 31 next year.

Judge Katz remanded Bennis in custody ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing on 4 November and fixed her trial for 31 July next year.
