Jurgen Klopp takes aim at Fulham again over dressing rooms and fancy new stand

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has stuck his boot into Fulham during a press conference.

The Reds boss saw his side draw to the newly-promoted side on the opening day of the season, in what was a shock result. After the match, the German boss made some puzzling comments about the Cottagers’ pitch being dry.

“The best thing about the game is the result,” Klopp told BT Sport after full-time. “A really bad game. How can that happen? The attitude was not right in the beginning. We tried to react after 15 minutes. The pitch was dry, stuff like this. Really difficult.”

This saw Fulham’s social media account mock the manager, posting a photo of the pitch being watered down.

And now, in his latest press conference, Klopp has hit out at Fulham again. “I love every football game,” Klopp saod. “Even Fulham where the dressing rooms are so small! They build a new stand with no space for a bigger dressing room!”

The manager has not had the best start to the campaign with his side. After the 2-2 draw with Fulham, the Reds were held to a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.

Their marquee summer signing Darwin Nunez saw red after lashing out at Joachim Andersen with a headbutt after the defender provoked him.

Klopp said after the game: “A little provocation here and there – and definitely the wrong reaction. A clear red card, I cannot deny that. Yeah, he will learn from that. Unfortunately, he has now a few games’ time to do so. That’s not cool for us in our specific situation, even less, but that’s how it is.”

The striker will miss out on the side’s upcoming game against United on Monday, with both sides looking for their first win of the season.
