Anthony Joshua set to double his net worth in one night thanks to Oleksandr Usyk purse

Anthony Joshua is set to double his net worth with the purse from his highly-anticipated world heavyweight title rematch against Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia on August 20.

Back in September, Joshua was comfortably outclassed as the Ukrainian snatched his WBA (Super), WBO, IBO and IBF world titles in front of 65,000 fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Usyk stunned Joshua on a number of occasions and was simply too fast for the Brit, landing a number of impressive hits to win unanimously on points.

Joshua will look to reclaim his titles when he faces the Ukrainian at the Jeddah Super Dome in Saudi Arabia on August 20. The rematch on Saturday will also feature the Ring Magazine title, after Tyson Fury vacated the belt after announcing his retirement.

The Brit has already fought in Saudi Arabia once before, earning his career-highest payday of £66million when he reclaimed his titles from Andy Ruiz Jr after originally shockingly losing to him at Madison Square Garden. Joshua signed an exclusive deal with DAZN ahead of the Usyk clash and it has ensured he is one of the highest-earners in the ring.

According to talkSPORT, the base money for the rematch will be a split with Joshua set to earn $75m – approximately £63m – plus sponsorship and bonus money which could rise to $119m (£100m). Usyk will also earn the same $75m from the clash.

This means that Joshua is set to double his net worth in a single night. The British superstar has a net worth of approximately £67.1m after he took home £11.4m plus 60 percent of the PPV revenue.
