Arsenal fans drool over William Saliba’s ‘outrageous’ goal in Bournemouth masterclass

Arsenal fans can’t get enough of William Saliba’s “outrageous” strike against Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

The French defender has impressed at the back for the Gunners after his long-awaited debut earlier this season. But the centre-back showed another dimension to his game on Saturday when he curled the ball past the outstretched arms of Mark Travers into the far top corner.

It was the cherry on the proverbial cake for the Gunners, who cruised past the Cherries with a swagger that hasn’t been felt in north London for a long time. And Arsenal fans took to social media to react to Saliba’s strike.

One fan tweeted: “William Saliba take a bow. Outrageous!”

“Brilliant goal, especially from a CB on his weak foot. And certain people wanted Saliba benched if Tomiyasu comes back into the starting 11,” a second added. While a third tweeted: “He said let me make up for last week’s own goal. Crazy finish.”

A fourth added: “Absolutely ridiculous strike. Ball is coming across his body and he hits it first time with his weak foot top bins!”

Saliba wasn’t just impressive going forward, and the colossus at the back completed 100% of his 63 passes in the first half.
