Manchester City star Ruben Dias has the same breakfast every day which involves him devouring around 1,000 calories worth of food.
The central defender is one of City’s most crucial cogs and a key part in Pep Guardiola’s side winning back-to-back Premier League titles in 2021 and 2022. And he has now detailed his very specific morning routine which has enabled him to become one of the league’s top centre-backs.
In an interview with SPORTbible, the Portugal international revealed he wakes up at 7:30am, after having eight hours worth of sleep, with an innate hunger to attack the day.

With that comes an insatiable appetite which involves him chowing down a whopping 1,000 calories first thing in the morning.
Dias’ breakfast includes an omelette, avocado on toast, smoked salmon and plenty of fruit. He also takes a shot of ginger for the inflammatory process along with collagen gel to prevent injuries.
The 25-year-old said: “The more colours the better,” before adding: “I also drink some orange juice, but not always because I like to vary between yoghurt and some other natural juices.

“It needs to be natural… that’s a really important detail. These are the sacrifices that have to be made.”
He leaves the house at 8:15am for City’s training complex, where gym work and physiotherapy are key parts of his routine both before and after training, which gets underway at 11am. Dias also admits he is often the first player to arrive.
The former Benfica player’s dedication and professionalism has earned him a place in Guardiola’s five-man leadership group alongside Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan. He is currently in his third season with the club, having started all five of City’s league games this campaign.
