Sunday Footy Show host Tony Jones has told the AFL to ‘get stuffed’ and branded the Brownlow Medal ceremony a ‘crap night’ after he was left off the invite list for the first time in more than three decades.
Jones says it’s the first time he hasn’t been invited in 32 years and he wasn’t holding back about the snub while talking to his colleagues on Sunday night.
‘If the AFL is watching, you can get stuffed, it’s a crap night,’ said the Channel Nine star.

Asked if he’d done anything to warrant a ban from footy’s night of nights, Jones stated he’d ‘just promoted the game in a good light’.
‘I was unaware of it until I heard Damo [fellow Footy Show panelist Damian Barrett] speaking to the wardrobe department. I’ve gone through all my emails, archives, junk, anyway, so I’ve officially been snubbed,’ said Jones.

Jay Allen, the AFL’s head of communications, made contact with Jones and extended an invite – which had been sent out to the rest of the media at the end of August.
Jones told the Herald Sun: ‘I’m not sure… it’s very kind of Jay… but I’m not sure the ego can recover from this one.’
