Alex Albon has returned home after his appendicitis ordeal that saw him subsequently suffer respiratory failure.
The Williams driver, 26, was diagnosed with appendicitis last week before undergoing laparoscopic surgery on Saturday.
Having practiced on the Friday before feeling unwell and subsequently being diagnosed with appendicitis, Albon suffered further medical complications when owing to anaesthetic issues he suffered respiratory failure.
The Thai-British driver was put under mechanical ventilation in a bid to make him better before he was released on Tuesday.
Williams confirmed to a number of media outlets that the driver had recovered well and would seek to get better back at home in Monaco.
Owing to an unusually large gap at this stage of the season, with the cancellation of the Russia Grand Prix causing such, it is hoped Albon will return to the seat for the Singapore race on October 2.

With Albon having pulled out ahead of Saturday’s qualifying, Nyck de Vries stepped into his seat as a reserve for his first ever F1 drive.
Speaking after the race, the Dutch former Formula E world champion said it was a ‘dream come true’ to finally get a chance in F1 and said that he hoped to be a permanent fixture next season.
‘It was a great day for the team and whilst grid penalties played in our favour, ultimately, we did a great race so I’m very happy for everyone in the team and for myself,’ he said.
‘Hopefully I will get a shot next year, but this is definitely a dream come true and I’m very impressed with what we’ve done in short notice, so I’ll go enjoy it now.’
