Adventurer Ben Fogle braved the cold – and radioactivity – when he went skinny-dipping in the Pripyat river near Chernobyl on a trip to Ukraine.
The adventurer, who was in the war-torn country to deliver supplies to those in need, tells me: ‘The dip was in solidarity with my Ukrainian brothers and sisters.
‘Despite the risks, I felt compelled to join them for a brief respite from the horrors of war.’
Ben, who has Ukrainian ancestry on his father’s side, first visited the Chernobyl exclusion zone last year for a Channel 5 documentary.
