A royal expert has claimed that Prince Harry could risk losing £17.5 million from a book deal if he decides to “dampen down” or change stories.
The Prince is due to receive £35 million for a four-book memoir and has so far received half of the money.
Expert Robert Jobson told the Australian TV show Sunrise: “I don’t know if he can dampen it down because if does then the amount of money he’s been paid the publishers might turn around and say, we don’t want to pay you the rest.

“As it’s an autobiography and we know it’s been penned by somebody else but the fact is he’s got to own every word, hasn’t he?
“The narrative, whatever way you look at it, if people disagree then you’ve got a problem because it’s going to be down as the narrative for William and his father.

“He’s not even done a Diana, Her True Story because she could say it was written by Andrew Morton. This was written by him.”
Following the Queen’s death, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have united with the rest of the family as they mourn her loss.
Harry and Meghan were present at the Queen’s funeral as well as joining other royals in making their way to Windsor for a committal and interment service.
Speculation is rife about the possibility of reconciliation talks between Harry, his brother William and their father King Charles III.

Jobson told Sunrise that these potential talks “have thrown a spanner in the works” as it may lead to Prince Harry rethinking the stories he chooses to write about.
After stepping down as senior royals in 2020, the couple now lives in California with the Queen’s great-grandchildren, Archie and Lili.

Since departing the royal family, both the Duke and Duchess have been outspoken about their years in The Firm. Their bombshell interview in 2021 with Oprah Winfrey revealed claims of racism and institutional failure to support Meghan when she was suicidal.
Meghan Markle has also recently launched her podcast, Archetype, on Spotify. It is rumoured that Spotify paid Markle around $15 to $18 million for a three-year deal.
The US-based couple has also signed deals with the likes of Netflix that are rumoured to be worth $100 million ($93 million).
