Jamie Vardy’s Rochester New York could LOSE coach Bruno Baltazar

Rochester New York FC co-owner Jamie Vardy is facing a battle to hold on to head coach Bruno Baltazar.

The 45-year old Baltazar has earned plaudits this season for guiding Rochester to an unlikely play-off place in the MLS Next Pro League alongside his assistant Guilherme Ramos and that has alerted a number of clubs including Hull City.

The English Championship side are drafting a list of candidates for their vacant manager’s position and are aware Portuguese Baltazar and Ramos still have valid work visas for the UK until 2026 owing to their previous spell with Nottingham Forest.

Rochester were the only independent side in their division, not supported by an MLS club, and punched above their weight under Baltazar until losing out to Columbus Crew II at the weekend.

They have high hopes going forward but Baltazar’s potential departure would come as a blow.

Another possible blow for Rochester’s high profile co-owner Vardy, is the fact sporting director Lee Tucker has emerged a target for Forest Green Rovers in England.

Tucker, 44, a former midfielder with Torquay United, built Rochester’s squad of 22 players from scratch and Forest Green want a candidate who can replace Richard Hughes who left the club for Portsmouth at the weekend.
