‘I feel more womanly since I’ve gained weight – abs don’t define you’

A body positive babe flaunted her curves as she showed off her weight gain to remind women that “abs don’t define” who you are.

Online coach Danielle, AKA Kale Them With Kindness on Instagram, often posts fitness advice.

In a recent post, she opened up about how much stronger she’s felt since she gained weight and stopped worrying about food.

Danielle shared before and after snaps to show how her body has changed.

While she used to be obsessed with being slim, she’s learned how eating can make you stronger.

Even though bodies change over time, she told her followers that “worth doesn’t”, and happiness shouldn’t be reliant on the number on a scale.

She opened up about her eating disorder recovery, and said it’s important to understand you won’t always have the same body you had when you were younger.

The online coach said she has boosted her “happiness” and “strength” since gaining fat.

Writing on Instagram, Danielle said: “You can’t expect to have the same stomach as you did when you were younger.

“One reason is because your body is actually storing more fat to protect your reproductive organs.

“Your body is literally preparing you for child bearing!

“I use to always look back on this photo from when I was younger, and wish I had the same toned abs and lean figure.

“But it’s just not achievable for me while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

“Now, I don’t look back on photos because my body is exactly where it is now and it’s where it needs to be.

“My abs don’t define me. My worth doesn’t decrease because I have more fat on my body.

“I’ve actually gained strength, happiness, confidence and I feel more womanly and empowered!

“I’m even on a weight gain journey now and I’m excited to grow even more.

“The photo on the left was when I started noticing ED behaviours arising, and I had this huge pressure to look a certain way thinking my body was the only thing that made me attractive.

“Fast forward to now, I know WHO I am is what makes me me, not my body!

“When you find yourself comparing your now body to your younger body – just stop.

“You’re here now, don’t look back, only look forward at all the brightness to come.”
