A former EastEnders star has been arrested accused of catfishing a pensioner and convincing him to hand over £80,000.
The actress, who cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly falsely told the old age pensioner, who is in his 80s, that she was in her 20s when this was not the case.
It’s alleged the man believed they were in a relationship after she offered to provide online sexual favours for a fee.
Police will allege the duo met on a dating site, according to The Sun.
Concerned relatives reportedly called detectives when they realised the pensioner’s savings had suddenly vanished.

The actress, who is a household name, allegedly asked other people to deposit some of the money she received into their bank accounts.
She was first arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud in July, but details of the arrest have only now emerged.
During the raid, police allegedly removed documents and electronic devices for further analysis.
Three other people, a 61-year-old woman and two men aged 34 and 38, were arrested in relation to the same alleged ‘romance fraud’.
All four people have been released pending further investigation.
