Jude Bellingham shrugged off his Kopa Trophy snub with a brace including a peach of a finish in a 5-0 Borussia Dortmund win.
Bellingham, who lost out to Barcelona star Gavi for the best young player award at the Ballon d’Or ceremony this week, put in a stunning performance against Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Saturday (October 22).
The highly-rated England midfielder opened the scoring after just 90 seconds, finishing first time in the box from Niklas Sule’s low cross. He then found the bottom corner with a gorgeous curling strike to net Dortmund’s fourth of the afternoon in front of the Yellow Wall.

His virtually flawless showing was hailed by fans and pundits alike. One supporter tweeted: “Gavi can have the boardroom but Jude Bellingham has the streets son, real ones know.”
Another wrote: “It’s ridiculous how skilled and well rounded Jude Bellingham is for a central midfielder aged just 19.” And a fan of his former club Birmingham cheekily pointed out: “Jude Bellingham has scored more goals this season than Aston Villa.”
Bellingham’s first league goals of the season took his tally in all competitions to eight, with half of those strikes coming in the Champions League.

It’s already the 19-year-old’s best goal-scoring season ahead of what is shaping up to be a busy summer for him next year. A number of clubs are set to test Dortmund’s resolve, with a move looking likely.
He’s also heading into the Qatar World Cup in a rich vein of form, which is music to the ears of Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate. Bellingham appears to have earned his way into Southgate’s starting XI ahead of Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips, who has been injured for most of the season.
