Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen to divorce after documents formally filed

NFL legend Tom Brady’s marriage to wife Gisele Bundchen is all but over following news that the couple have officially filed divorce documents.

Sources at TMZ say lawyers for both Brady and Bundchen have been working with a mediator to hammer out both property settlement and custody terms, and have now today come to an amicable agreement.

The terms of the settlement will remain confidential and sealed, according to reports.

Brady, 45, and his wife tied the knot in 2009 but have been living apart in recent months with speculation rife on the reasons behind the split.

There have been claims that Brady’s shock retirement U-turn earlier this year angered Bundchen, with whom Brady has two young children.

Last month, Bundchen spoke out amid reports her marriage to Brady was on the rocks, saying she’s done her “part” in the marriage and that it’s “going to be my turn” to chase dreams and it’s understood the couple’s attorney has been working on their split August.

Brady announced his retirement from football in February following 22 successive seasons in the NFL, but reversed his decision just 40 days later, returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2022 season.

Brazilian supermodel Gisele was reportedly furious with her husband’s decision as she looking forward to him being able to spend more time with their kids at home.

She teased their impending split shortly after by commenting on an Instagram post from author Jay Shetty, which read: “You can’t be in a committed relationship with someone who is inconsistent with you.”

Brady revealed in 2017 that his wife wanted him to retire and despite several plans to call it a day, the quarterback has continued his stunning career.

Meanwhile, Brady has admitted he has turned to therapy to deal with his pressures away from the NFL field.

“It’s something that I’ve always continued to try to work through, and it’s obviously a challenge for me and different forms of whether it’s physical therapy or mental therapy, all those things I’ve definitely done over the years,” Brady said on the “Let’s Go!” Podcast.

Brady has built a mega fortune $250million (£219m) over the course of his career, but it pales in comparison to his soon-to-be ex-wife, who, according to Celebrity Net Worth boasts a net worth of $400m (£350m).
