Paedo bus driver who killed boy, 8, and then moved in with his parents could be freed

Sick paedo Darren Vickers, who killed an eight-year-old boy and subsequently befriended the boy’s parents could be released from prison in a matter of weeks.

Vickers, a bus driver had moved in with the parents of Jamie Lavis after he had murdered the poor youngster, claiming he could help the worried pair find their son.

The 56-year-old monster had moved in with the family and even became their so-called spokesperson that would help them “find” their son, who Vickers had groomed to remain on his bus all day.

Following the sick murder, Vickers had posed as a bus driver who had last seen the youngster, with the sick killer doing so to keep in the loop on police investigations.

Karen and John Lavis had even allowed Vickers to sleep at the family home, offering to move the sofa out and put a bed in its place to accommodate their spokesperson.

The pair were unaware of Vickers’ horrid crimes until police grew suspicious over the now 56-year-old’s “obsessive” involvement in Jamie’s disappearance.

Even after his arrest, Vickers maintained his innocence, until the boy’s body was discovered two years after his death in undergrowth where he had been sexually assaulted and then murdered.

Vickers was jailed for life for murder, with a minimum of 25 years sentencing, which will now be examined by a parole board.

Greater Manchester Parole Board said that a panel will “carefully examine a huge range of evidence”, with a hearing scheduled for February 2023, The Sun reported.

Ex-copper Asif Hussain, 60, had previously stated that Vickers would be a “danger to children for the rest of his life.”

Hussain continued: “He was a married man with two children of his own and yet he was able to take the life of another child. He can never be rehabilitated in my opinion.”

These claims from Hussain were echoed by Roy Rainford, with the senior investigating officer of the case stating the sick paedo should “never be released” and that if he was, he would be a “danger to children.”
